Permitium, the leading provider of software for vital records processing and weapons permitting, is proud to announce a significant milestone in its growth journey: the onboarding of its 500th customer. This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to revolutionizing government technology and improving public services.
Founded in 2012, Permitium’s story began with a simple yet powerful idea: to modernize and transform public-facing government processes to more effectively serve communities. The spark for this innovation came from an unexpected source – personal frustration: one of the co-founders of Permitium saw how inefficient and cumbersome the process was for obtaining a weapons permit and thought, ‘We can do better than this.’“
This realization didn’t come out of the blue. The Permitium co-founders had already established a successful company providing software for K-12 school districts, allowing for online requests of transcripts and student records. The efficiencies and public satisfaction generated by this platform led to a lightbulb moment.
“Permitium’s founders saw how our technology was transforming processes in the education sector,” Lueck explains. “It became clear that similar innovations could revolutionize government agencies, helping them better serve their communities.“
From this vision, Permitium was born, with an initial focus on improving permitting workflows for law enforcement agencies. The company’s flagship product, PermitDirector, quickly became synonymous with efficiency and user-friendliness in the industry.
As Permitium expanded its product line to include solutions for various permit and license types, including licenses for protective services, it also ventured into vital records management. This expansion was inspired by early collaborations, such as with Union County Register of Deeds in North Carolina, which became a case study in successful digital transformation of government services.
Permitium’s journey from its first customer to its 500th has been marked by consistent growth, technological advancements, and an unwavering focus on customer satisfaction. The company has expanded its reach across the United States, offering innovative solutions that streamline processes for law enforcement agencies, sheriff’s offices, and local governments.
“Reaching our 500th customer is a testament to the hard work of our team and the trust our customers place in us,” said Chris Lueck co-CEO of Permitium. We started Permitium with a vision to make government processes more efficient and accessible. Today, we’re not just celebrating a number; we’re celebrating the positive impact we’ve had on hundreds of communities across the nation.”
As part of this milestone celebration, Permitium is launching a week-long campaign to thank its customers, engage with its community, and continue its mission of giving back.
